The Butchers

UK-wide, 2026-ongoing

A new photographic project celebrating the existence traditional, family-owned butcher shops across the UK, documenting the culture, trade and community role of independent butchers at a time when many long-standing family businesses are disappearing from the high street. Independent butchers play a vital part in local communities - not only preserving the craft of British butchery, but also supporting local food supply chains and contributing to the UK’s wider food security. This project explores the butcher shops that continue to uphold these traditions and values, highlighting the continued role they play in serving the local community through expertise and commitment to supplying high-quality produce.
